Soliant is seeking a dedicated and passionate School-Based Physical Therapist (PT) to contribute to our educational services in Darien, CT. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive physical therapy to students, facilitating their physical development and enhancing their academic and social engagement.
Core Responsibilities:
- Evaluation and Assessment: Conduct detailed assessments of students' physical capabilities and requirements to formulate personalized treatment strategies.
- Therapeutic Services: Provide direct physical therapy interventions to students with mobility challenges, including therapeutic exercises and mobility enhancement techniques.
- Collaboration with Staff: Partner with educators, school personnel, and families to incorporate physical therapy objectives into students' learning plans and encourage their involvement in school activities.
- Program Design: Create and execute therapeutic programs customized to each student's unique needs, aligned with their Individualized Education Program (IEP).
- Record Keeping: Ensure meticulous documentation of student progress, therapy sessions, and assessments. Generate and present reports as necessary.
- Consultative Support: Offer training and advice to school staff on methods to assist students with physical challenges and foster an inclusive educational atmosphere.
- Regulatory Compliance: Follow all relevant federal and state guidelines, along with school policies regarding physical therapy services.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Doctorate or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Current state licensure in Physical Therapy (CT) is mandatory.
- Experience: Experience in a school-based physical therapy role is preferred but not essential.
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities. Capability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and educational staff.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with state and federal regulations concerning special education and physical therapy services.
