Job Summary

The Supervisor Ramp Services Manager is responsible for managing, coordinating, and controlling airport activities for both Ramp Services and Passenger Service functions. This includes monitoring work performance, directing personnel, and overseeing staffing requirements. You'll also be responsible for ensuring compliance with Company rules and regulations, as well as contractual agreements. Additionally, you'll participate in the discipline, coaching, counseling, hiring, and termination of subordinates, and ensure that all required aspects of the operation are maintained in accordance with the corporate security program and TSA legislation.

Ramp Service Functions

This role includes the following responsibilities:

  • Loading and unloading of cargo (mail, express, baggage, freight, and company material) on and off aircraft;
  • Transporting cargo between terminals and aircraft;
  • Ramp transfers of cargo where required;
  • Receiving, delivering, and physically handling freight and company material;
  • Completing forms and messages related to the performance of designated locations of functions described;
  • Cleaning and servicing of cabin interiors, including cockpit and lavatories;
  • Draining lavatories;
  • Checking, handling, assembling, removing, and installing passenger service cabin furnishings and supplies;
  • Transporting such furnishings and supplies to and from aircraft;
  • Assisting in loading, unloading, and racking both filled and empty drums;
  • De-icing aircraft, cleaning aircraft windshields, pushing out/towing aircraft, and related guide man functions;
  • Connecting/removing ground power and ground start units;
  • Cleaning the exterior of aircraft with specialized cleaning fluids;
  • Performing routine cleaning of work areas, ramps, and facilities with or without powered equipment;
  • Assisting in monitoring the security of the facility;
  • Performing routine automotive repair; servicing and cleaning of powered and unpowered equipment.


Responsibilities

This role includes the following responsibilities:

  • Performing all aspects of airport operations, including ticketing transactions, baggage check-in, issuing boarding passes, and dispatching flights in a safe and timely manner;
  • May also be responsible for baggage service functions of filing loss, damage, and pilferage claims;
  • Offering efficient and professional customer service and resolving passenger problems as required;
  • Coordinating with all departments to ensure operational needs are met, including catering, fueling, and maintenance companies;
  • Acting as a company representative when assigned;
  • Reporting to work on a regular and timely basis;
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals;
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals;
  • Ability to compute rate, percent, and interpret bar graphs;
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions;
  • Ability to interpret extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


Minimum Requirements

This role requires:

  • An Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school;
  • Related experience and/or training;
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language;
  • Ability to work weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), holidays, and days off.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

This role requires:

  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs;
  • Work in a high noise level environment.
