Job Overview

CMC Rescue Inc is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Product Development and Engineering teams. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing technical and team leadership for all aspects of research, design, development, and production readiness for innovative new products and improvements to existing product lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the engineering design process from conceptual design to detailed product documentation, analysis, testing, verification, and validation.
  • Own the product realization process, including Design for Manufacturability (DFM), cost and margin estimation, production methods, fixtures, equipment, and seamless handoff from engineering to operations.
  • Create, implement, improve, and maintain sound engineering processes, providing leadership and support to ensure consistent use of processes, tools, and procedures for the engineering team to be successful.
  • Provide resource management and prioritization to support new and existing product developments, ECO projects, process improvement projects, and other production support activities.
  • Engage with relevant stakeholders and lead product/process analysis for safety, quality, cost, and efficiency improvements.
  • Provide guidance, development, and mentorship to ensure the high performance, effective utilization, and continued development of our internal resources.
  • Work collaboratively with Product Management, Marketing, and Business Development personnel to define the scope of potential development projects, schedule resources, and create initial product requirements.
  • Ensure the design history (test reports, technical reports, and design review presentations, etc.) is created and maintained for projects throughout the development process.
  • Ensure product designs are compliant with internal requirements, engineering principles, certification standards, customer/contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Create and provide the leadership team with consistent, high-value reporting of key department metrics, ROI, and other project milestones.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and technical innovation to maintain CMC's leadership position in the market.
  • Conduct performance reviews and maintain open, effective communications with department staff, supportive of company values.
  • Participate in industry trade shows, customer, and supplier meetings and visits.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • B.S. in engineering with a preference in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 10 years' experience in manufacturing and/or product development desired.
  • 3+ years of engineering management leadership experience.

Work Environment:

The work environment is in a manufacturing facility with a moderate noise level. The physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, and use the hands to handle, finger, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Occasionally, the employee must crouch or kneel. Successful performance requires specific vision abilities that include close vision. The employee must regularly exert or lift up to 40 pounds of materials. Some business travel is required.

Compensation:

The salary for this position is $116,000-$140,000 per year.
