POSITION: VICE PRESIDENT OF OPERATIONS, HEF NORTH AMERICA
ROLE SUMMARY
As the Vice President of Operations for HEF North America, you will report directly to the HEF Groupe Steering Committee based in France. This position can be located in either Springfield, OH or Torrance, CA.
ABOUT HEF GROUPE
HEF Groupe is a leading French multinational corporation specializing in surface engineering, photonics, and hydrogen technologies. With a legacy spanning 70 years, the company employs approximately 3,200 professionals across 23 countries in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
The North American division comprises 12 subsidiaries, focusing on delivering innovative solutions in liquid nitriding services, PVD coating services, tribology testing, and the production of engineered sleeve bearings and bushings for demanding industrial applications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the Chief Executive Officer for HEF USA, overseeing the sales of proprietary chemical products and engineered components.
- Lead Abrisa Technologies, managing operations related to optical coatings and industrial glass fabrication.
- Supervise the Mexican Country Manager, ensuring effective management of HEF's business activities in Mexico.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Material, or Chemical Engineering. An MBA is advantageous.
Experience: 10 to 15 years in senior leadership roles, with at least 5 years as a CEO managing multiple subsidiaries with full P&L accountability. Experience in overseeing North American operations for a foreign parent company is preferred.
Industry Background: Proven experience in manufacturing sectors, particularly in mechanical, specialty chemicals, metallurgy, optical components, or industrial services.
Business Development: A strong track record in business development, particularly in selling mechanical components, specialty chemicals, or industrial services, along with experience in identifying and negotiating growth opportunities.
FUNCTIONS & DUTIES
- Manage the overall operations of several subsidiaries, ensuring financial oversight and adherence to corporate policies.
- Maintain full P&L responsibility, driving business improvement initiatives.
- Lead business development efforts to enhance HEF's revenue streams in North America.
- Foster relationships with existing and potential clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with French management to establish strategic directions for revenue growth across all business units.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Exceptional leadership capabilities with sound decision-making skills, particularly in high-pressure situations.
- Strong understanding of corporate finance, KPIs, and performance management.
- Analytical and problem-solving proficiency.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and management best practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
