Key Responsibilities:

The Lead Integration Specialist will be responsible for the integration and testing of autonomy software and algorithms on various robotic platforms, from small quadcopters to larger helicopters. This role emphasizes software-in-the-loop, hardware-in-the-loop, and field testing integration. Senior engineers will offer technical guidance to steer projects through their entire lifecycle, from initial conception to production, whether by leading teams or providing subject matter expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Over 10 years of industry experience in robotics or autonomous flight
  • Strong background in avionics
  • Expertise in the integration and field testing of robotic systems
  • Experience with sensor configuration and data processing using RGB and IR cameras, lidar, and radar
  • Proficient in C++ design and programming
  • Familiarity with ROS or ROS2
  • Experience with Python or similar programming languages
  • Knowledge of software benchmarking, optimization, and multi-threaded development
  • Expertise in software engineering practices and the software development lifecycle
  • Comfortable working in a Linux environment
  • Willingness to travel and engage in fieldwork

Preferred Skills:

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience in designing modular, testable, and extensible C++ APIs
  • Experience with MIPI camera integration
  • Proven track record in leading teams and mentoring engineers
  • Demonstrated ability to manage technical development projects within budget and schedule constraints

This position requires US citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the nature of Near Earth's funding and is subject to a successful background check.
