Position Summary:

Calo Companies is seeking a dedicated Equipment Loader Operator to contribute to our operations. This role is ideal for individuals looking for stable hours and the opportunity for overtime throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely maneuver small front loaders, forklifts, and other machinery to transport and load various landscape materials.
  • Efficiently load materials into designated areas and customer vehicles.
  • Conduct daily inspections of machinery before and after operation, including routine maintenance tasks such as greasing, oiling, and fueling.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, regulations, and documentation requirements.
  • Promote a culture of safety by assessing risks prior to task initiation, performing only authorized activities, and utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Observe and report any changes in equipment performance to the maintenance team to prevent malfunctions.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience operating front-end loaders and forklifts.
  • A strong commitment to teamwork and safety.
  • A professional demeanor when interacting with colleagues, supervisors, and the public.
  • The capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Familiarity with various landscape materials.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently when necessary.
  • A proactive approach to fostering a positive and safe work environment in physically demanding conditions.
  • A willingness to undertake additional responsibilities as needed.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Work primarily in an outdoor setting.
  • Engage in activities such as walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, stretching, and sitting.
  • Must be capable of frequently bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, turning, climbing, and crawling.
  • Maintain alertness to potential hazards associated with heavy machinery and other vehicles in the work area.

Schedule:

  • Full-time position.
