Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the supervising physician, the selected candidate will provide essential services in a collaborative, patient-focused primary care environment. This role involves caring for both insured and uninsured patients, with a particular focus on those facing challenges in accessing healthcare due to financial, linguistic, cultural, or social factors. Flexibility in scheduling is required, including participation in an On-Call rotation with fellow providers. The incumbent will report directly to the Director of Rural Clinics.

Please note that this position mandates quarterly certification in American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) post-hire. This ongoing certification must be obtained through internal resources, as external RQI competency resources do not meet compliance requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least one (1) year of experience as a Physician Assistant in an outpatient primary care setting or community health center.
  • Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Training Program and possession of an academic degree.
  • Successful completion of a national physician assistant examination prior to licensure by the Physician Assistant Board in California.
  • Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in good standing from the California State Physician Assistant Board.
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI) number.
  • Satisfactory report from the National Practitioner Data Bank.
  • Ability to meet Dignity Health's credentialing and privileging processes upon hire and biannually thereafter.
  • BLS certification.
  • Valid PA license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable.
  • ACLS certification.
Compensation
$84.58/hour
