Job Responsibilities- Curriculum Development and Instruction: Design and implement effective lesson plans that meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
- Classroom Management: Create a positive and productive learning environment that promotes student engagement and motivation.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and implement assessments to measure student progress and understanding.
- Intervention and Support: Provide targeted support to students who require additional help, including those with special needs and English language learners.
- Technology Integration: Effectively use technology to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Communication and Collaboration: Maintain open lines of communication with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
- Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with best practices in education and participate in ongoing professional development to improve teaching skills.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
- Licensure: Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education teacher licensure in grade and subject area appropriate for the assignment.
- Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement: Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement for core content teachers.
- Diversity and Inclusion: Ability to work with diverse populations and promote equity and appreciation of diversity.
- Curriculum Knowledge: Knowledge of MA Curriculum frameworks, curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
- Instructional Strategies: Knowledge of differentiated instruction and response to intervention.
- Bilingualism: Bilingual Spanish.
- Dual Certification: Dual certification in ESL and/or Moderate Disabilities.
The school day is 6.5 hours, with the possibility of longer hours for schools with extended day. The number of school days is 185 days. Salary information can be found in the contract.
