Job Overview

Position: Equipment Mechanic

Department: Service

Reporting To: Service Manager or Service Location Manager

Supervision: None

Objective:

The Equipment Mechanic is tasked with the assembly and preparation of various equipment types available through the dealership. This role includes conducting pre-delivery inspections and ensuring that equipment is ready for customer delivery. Guidance may be provided by the Service Manager, Service Location Manager, Shop Foreman, or senior technicians as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Service Manager and technicians to enhance departmental efficiency.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop, vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
  • Assist service technicians as required, including the delivery of parts.
  • Collaborate with service technicians in the repair, servicing, and relocation of equipment.
  • Accountable for billable hours and assigned work orders.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs on work orders, submitting information punctually.
  • Participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs to develop skills and knowledge.
  • Operate and maintain necessary vehicles, tools, and equipment for job duties.
  • Keep a tidy work area and perform tasks in an orderly manner.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while executing work assignments.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for machinery pre-delivery and setup.
  • Familiarity with basic computer operations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possession of an adequate toolset for job responsibilities (may be supplied by the dealership).
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required; an Associate's degree is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is essential.
  • A forklift license is advantageous.
