Position Overview

The University of New Mexico is seeking a qualified Epileptologist to enhance our Neurology department. This role involves working collaboratively with a dedicated team of professionals to deliver exceptional patient care in both inpatient and outpatient environments.

Clinical Duties:
Responsibilities will encompass coverage and on-call duties for adult neurology inpatient services, management of outpatient neurology clinics, and interpretation of both inpatient and outpatient adult electroencephalograms (EEGs).

Academic Engagement:
In addition to clinical responsibilities, the position includes teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, contributing to the educational mission of the department.

Research Involvement:
Engagement in clinical trials and research initiatives within the department is also expected, promoting advancements in neurology.

Minimum Requirements:

  • MD Degree or equivalent
  • Board certification or eligibility in Neurology
  • Completion of Adult Neurology Residency training prior to the start date
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in New Mexico
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of clinical experience in managing neurology patients
  • A proven commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, along with experience working in diverse communities
