About the Role

R&K Enterprise Solutions, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Patient Safety Specialist to join our team. As a Patient Safety Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of safe and effective healthcare services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Implement Patient Safety Programs: Design, implement, and coordinate patient safety programs that align with the organization's strategic objectives and comply with regulatory requirements.
  2. Provide Expertise and Guidance: Serve as a subject matter expert in patient safety and provide guidance to healthcare professionals on best practices, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives.
  3. Conduct Risk Assessments and Analysis: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with patient care, using tools such as Comprehensive Systematic Analysis (CSA) and Proactive Risk Assessment (PRA).
  4. Develop and Implement Quality Improvement Initiatives: Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives that address patient safety concerns and improve healthcare outcomes.
  5. Provide Education and Training: Develop and deliver education and training programs to healthcare professionals on patient safety, risk management, and quality improvement.
  6. Monitor and Report Patient Safety Events: Collect, analyze, and report patient safety events to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.
Requirements
  1. A bachelor's degree in a nursing or healthcare-related field.
  2. Four (4) years minimum experience in a healthcare-related field, with military inpatient facility experience highly desired.
  3. Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  4. The ability to work independently, organize time, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  5. The ability to pay attention to detail and effectively communicate patient safety concepts to leadership and healthcare staff.
  6. Experience with patient safety aspects of healthcare accreditation is highly desirable.
  7. Documented experience with performing Comprehensive Systematic Analysis (CSA) and Proactive Risk Assessment (PRA).
  8. Bachelor's level skills in written and oral communications, public speaking, and fostering positive interpersonal relationships.
  9. For Patient Safety Specialists with data analytic duties: basic skills in Microsoft Access, Visual Basic, Structured Query Language (SQL), related databases, and visual report design tools.
