Overview:

The Warehouse Operations Assistant will collaborate closely with the Warehouse Manager to facilitate the smooth functioning of warehouse activities, which include receiving shipments, organizing inventory, and ensuring accurate order fulfillment.

Key Responsibilities:

Aids in the execution of receiving, storage, and distribution processes by implementing and supporting operational and personnel policies. Monitors inventory levels through regular physical counts and reconciles discrepancies with the data management system. Enhances the physical state of the warehouse by designing effective layouts, inspecting equipment, and initiating repair requests as necessary. Ensures compliance with cleanliness and safety standards as per AIB and NFS regulations. Assists in maintaining productivity levels, ensuring timely completion of receiving and inventory tasks. Adheres to OSHA regulations and company safety protocols. Provides coverage for various warehouse functions as required and supports daily operations in the absence of the day manager. Accurately documents all relevant transactions and reports any discrepancies to Accounts Payable, Purchasing, and Operations Management. Schedules inbound deliveries and verifies that products are received in good condition. Accurately processes incoming shipments, ensuring proper documentation and scanning in accordance with purchase orders. Monitors product levels and ensures proper rotation of stock. Assists in stocking, managing, and locating incoming products. Supports additional warehouse operations as necessary. Maintains cleanliness in receiving areas and throughout the warehouse. Completes daily operational tasks and submits necessary receiving documentation to Accounts Payable and Operations Management. Ensures that lumping checks are accurately recorded and forwarded to accounting. Performs any other assigned duties.

Qualifications:

Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team. Proven experience in implementing effective distribution practices, particularly in receiving and inventory management. Strong analytical skills with the ability to present data clearly to management. Effective time management skills and adaptability to changing priorities. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy. Excellent communication and organizational skills, coupled with a strong work ethic. Sound judgment and decision-making capabilities. Team-oriented individual who collaborates effectively with diverse staff. Exceptional interpersonal communication, leadership, and customer service abilities. Capacity to make informed decisions, solve problems, prioritize tasks, and lead a workforce in a dynamic warehouse setting. Proficient in computer applications (Outlook, MS Excel) and ability to learn new software such as Canopy. Experience in process improvement and knowledge of best practices in receiving and inventory management. Ability to motivate, influence, and engage staff towards achieving company objectives.
