Nursing Instructor

Position Overview
The adjunct faculty member will deliver educational instruction and evaluate student progress in the Nursing discipline at Southeast Technical College (STC), equipping students for initial roles within the healthcare sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement a relevant curriculum that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical laboratory experiences, preparing students for entry-level nursing positions.
- Conduct class sessions in alignment with established learning objectives and session outlines provided by STC.
- Utilize engaging teaching methodologies to enhance student learning experiences.
- Create a supportive educational atmosphere that fosters retention, accountability, diversity, equity, excellence, innovation, collaboration, dignity, self-respect, safety, student achievement, and both personal and professional development.
- Develop and curate assessments, assignments, and online discussions that effectively measure student performance against standardized learning outcomes.
- Assess student performance through evaluations based on course deliverables and established rubrics.
- Provide timely feedback on student grades by documenting assignments, discussion contributions, examinations, and course completions through the learning management system.
- Prepare and manage syllabus materials for the course.
- Collaborate with the Associate Dean of Curriculum and Instruction to align course materials and curriculum.
- Follow established protocols for online learning participation as determined by the course structure.
- Review and discuss textbook and course material updates with the Associate Dean of Curriculum and Instruction and full-time faculty members.
- In accordance with STC's educational and industry standards, evaluate and enhance curriculum and course competencies to ensure alignment with industry expectations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Registered Nursing or Licensed Practical Nursing is required.
Experience: A minimum of two years of nursing experience is required; one year of experience in long-term care as a Registered Nurse is preferred; prior experience in post-secondary education is strongly preferred.

- Diversity Commitment: Ability to work collaboratively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Strategic Planning: Competence in setting and achieving short and long-term organizational goals.
Work Environment:
The role is conducted in a standard classroom setting equipped with necessary instructional tools. The environment is conducive to learning, with adequate lighting and temperature control, and typical classroom noise levels. Occasional exposure to outdoor conditions may occur during travel outside the classroom.
