Nursing Education Instructor

The Nursing Education Instructor is responsible for delivering comprehensive instruction to both prospective and current nursing students across various healthcare-related subjects. This includes didactic, clinical, laboratory, and simulation teaching as per departmental requirements. The instructor will report directly to the Chair of the Nursing Department.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver educational content to nursing students in diverse healthcare topics, ensuring alignment with departmental needs.
- Create and develop instructional materials, including syllabi, lectures, course content, and assessment tools, adhering to best practices in nursing education.
- Collaborate with fellow faculty members to uphold program quality and meet accreditation standards.
- Assess student performance through various evaluation methods and maintain confidential academic records.
- Be available to teach evening and weekend courses as required by the department.
- Utilize face-to-face, online, and hybrid teaching modalities as needed.
- Provide remediation support to students when necessary.
- Engage in faculty development training.
- Maintain emotional and physical health to participate fully in all aspects of nursing instruction.
- Foster professional relationships within the college and healthcare communities.
- Hold regular office hours for student consultations.
- Participate actively in college events, faculty meetings, and professional development activities.
- Ensure the completeness of the Nursing Faculty file.
- Contribute to statewide, college-level, and program-level planning and curriculum development.
- Engage in recruitment activities for the college and nursing program.
- Serve on college committees or boards as assigned.
- Act as an academic advisor for students.
- Comply with all institutional policies and procedures.
- Achieve and maintain the CTE Advanced Occupational Specialist certificate within three years of employment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Refer to the Nursing Faculty Handbook for detailed responsibilities.
- Demonstrated emotional and physical health to engage fully in nursing instruction.
- Current, unencumbered RN license.
- Proven nursing practice experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Enrollment in a master's program or completion of a master's degree in nursing within three years of employment.
- Residency in Idaho is required.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Master's Degree in Nursing.
- Experience in nursing education.
Employees work indoors, protected from environmental factors, but may experience occasional temperature fluctuations. Regular attendance is essential, and employees may be required to participate in events outside standard working hours.
Background ChecksEmployment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background investigation, which may include credit and/or motor vehicle checks based on the position.
