Job Summary:

SSM Health is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using radioactive materials to create images of the body. You will work closely with radiologists and physicians to provide high-quality images for interpretation.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and operate cameras that detect and map radioactive drugs in a patient's body to create diagnostic images.
  • Position patients and select anatomic and technical factors accurately.
  • Order, prepare, administer, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
  • Ensure equipment is properly functioning. Report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel. Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, and orderly department.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a Nuclear Medicine certification program.
  • No experience required.
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) Certification and Registration - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
