Credit Acceptance is a leading provider of used car finance solutions, and we're seeking a skilled Software Engineering Manager II to join our Consumer Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, with experience in leading engineering teams and implementing Agile and DevOps practices. You will be responsible for designing solutions to meet requirements for initiatives involving multiple team applications, as well as applications owned by other teams. Additionally, you will support delivery teams to ensure process and technology standards are consistently followed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions
  • Design solutions to meet requirements for initiatives involving multiple team applications
  • Support delivery teams to ensure process and technology standards are consistently followed
  • Build effective teams and drive results

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience leading engineering teams
  • Proven experience in technical leadership, capable of providing mentorship, cross-functional project execution, setting and executing on technical vision and strategy

Preferred Experience:

  • 4 years' experience of leading initiatives in a Java ecosystem
  • Architecting and building solutions in AWS using EKS, Lambda, S3, and/or Aurora
  • Track record of identifying opportunities to improve outcomes via new tools and approaches, evaluating and measuring candidate solutions, and successfully advocating for their adoption

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Thought leader with deep technical expertise with the proven ability to influence and partner with business to innovate and drive outcomes
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information (both verbal and written) to all levels, including senior leadership
  • Ability to solve problems at the source by offering simple, working solutions

Targeted Total Compensation:

A competitive base salary + an annual variable bonus (cash and equity) will range from $141,200 to $303,188. This position may also be eligible for a sign-on RSU grant.

Final compensation within the range is influenced by many factors including role-specific skills, depth and experience level, industry background, relevant education and certifications, and geographic location.
