The Human Resources team at Novelis is looking for a Human Resources Strategic Partner based in Guthrie, Kentucky. This position is pivotal in delivering a comprehensive range of strategic and transactional human resource services, encompassing compensation, recruitment, personnel administration, employee training and development, organizational development, employee relations, and change management for the Automotive Finishing or Recycling plant.
As a strategic partner, this role aligns business goals with the needs of employees and management within the supported functional groups. Additionally, this position acts as a consultant to management on various human resource matters.
An effective HR Strategic Partner embodies the Novelis Culture Beliefs, serving as an employee advocate and change agent who fosters trust among managers and employees.
The incumbent will proactively assess and anticipate HR-related needs, communicating effectively with business management to develop coordinated solutions. This role will collaborate across the HR function to deliver impactful results.Key Responsibilities:
This position entails making informed decisions and recommendations that balance employee needs with organizational objectives. The scope of decision-making is broad, considering multiple interacting variables.
- Mentor employees on various HR-related issues and scenarios.
- Support employees and managers in the accurate execution of HR processes.
- Lead Talent Management initiatives to enhance employee development and engagement across client groups.
- Address performance-related challenges effectively.
- Design and develop roles that best support business needs.
- Collaborate with the Compensation team to assess job roles and establish appropriate job bands.
- Provide compensation recommendations for internal staff to ensure equity.
- Partner closely with the Talent Acquisition Center of Excellence to expedite the hiring process with top talent.
- Coordinate the onboarding process with the Employee Lifecycle team to ensure all pre-employment steps and new hire documentation are completed, along with HRIS data setup and ongoing support for new hires.
- Input and manage relevant data in the Human Resource Information System (HRIS), including personnel information.
- Collaborate with managers to ensure adherence to policies and consistency in application.
- Request and organize routine and ad hoc reports from the HRIS.
- Assist department managers with annual processes such as salary planning and performance evaluations.
- Plan and coordinate company events.
- Support the management of the uniform program.
- Conduct safety audits and walks as necessary.
- Enter purchase requisitions and manage POs in the current system.
- Collaborate with the HR Manager to communicate all HR matters within the business units.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Human Resources, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Several years of progressive experience in human resources is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Self-motivated with the ability to achieve results independently.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to connect with all organizational levels clearly and concisely.
- Capable of coordinating and prioritizing tasks effectively while managing multiple responsibilities without compromising attention to detail.
- Experience with HR systems (HRIS, ATS, etc.) is preferred.
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
- Maintain a high level of integrity and foster relationships within the workforce.
- PHR/SPHR certification is preferred.

Novelis' Guthrie facility is strategically located in Guthrie, Kentucky, approximately 15 minutes from the Tennessee state line. This facility will house a heat treatment and pretreatment line serving the North American automotive market and will employ around 300 residents.
