**Job Description**

The CART ASSOCIATE position at the Sacramento International Airport is responsible for maintaining the cart units, keeping equipment clean and in working order. This role requires manual movement of carts throughout departures, baggage claim, garage, and other locations to our cart collection areas.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Manually move carts to designated areas.
  • Learn and practice safe work habits to ensure safety to self, co-workers, company equipment, airport property, passengers and visitors.
  • Provide general customer service to assist passengers navigating throughout the airport.
  • Possess strong innate work habits and perform the job in an honest, reliable, and professional manner.
  • Effectively communicate with peers, maintenance and management to improve business operations.
  • Adaptable to operational change.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Six months of successful work experience (unless currently a student).
  • Ability to pass state, federal, Home Land Security clearance requirements and reference checks.
  • Open scheduling availability required, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong customer service and mathematical comprehension, highly desired.
  • Displays confidence and competence in fast-paced environments.
  • Comfortable speaking to the general public.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical ability, manual dexterity needed to lift a minimum of 75-100lbs.
  • Push and pull 75-100 pounds to move up to 15 carts simultaneously.
  • Walk and stand for duration of shift.
  • Able to withstand undesirable weather conditions (wind, rain, extreme temperatures up to 115 degrees).
