Director of Behavioral Health Billing

Northeast Family Services is seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to oversee all aspects of billing operations. This role will report to the Director of Operations and is responsible for leading a team of five to ten billing specialists and related support staff to ensure the accurate and efficient management of the organization's account receivables.

This is a unique opportunity to join a rapidly growing and well-regarded organization. The Director of Behavioral Health Billing will be responsible for evaluating systems and developing processes and practices to maximize revenue. They will oversee the billing and coding process to ensure efficiency and accuracy, develop and maintain specific training materials for all Accounts Receivable workflows, and monitor Accounts Receivable and implement processes to enhance collections.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related field, and at least 5 years of billing management experience. They must have experience in the behavioral health field, advanced computer skills, and excellent communication skills. Experience with EHRs/EMRs/Medical Billing Software is a must, and proficiency in Carelogic is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate systems and develop processes and practices to maximize revenue
  • Oversee the billing and coding process to ensure efficiency and accuracy
  • Develop and maintain specific training materials for all Accounts Receivable workflows
  • Monitor Accounts Receivable and implement processes to enhance collections
  • Ensure that billing is compliant with legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements
  • Develop and monitor systems to measure and improve productivity of billable services
  • Provide leadership with reporting and analysis of KPIs related to revenue management
  • Serve as a liaison with payors, including management of credentialing and contract processes
  • Maintain comprehensive payor information, including fee schedules and contract documentation
