Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer

Deaconess Hospital is seeking a seasoned physician leader to serve as the Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer (SVP-CMO) of Deaconess Clinic. This executive role is integral to our administrative team, reporting directly to the President of the Physician Division.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary interface between the employed medical group and health system administration, ensuring alignment and collaboration.
  • Oversee health system-wide physician practice operations, clinical quality, compliance, physician compensation, group financial performance, and strategic medical group development.
  • Lead physician recruitment efforts for the system to grow the medical group to meet the needs of the community.
  • Develop and implement innovative patient care programs and medical management strategies transforming practice operations and clinical efficiency.
  • Lead employed medical group governance structure across the health system for ambulatory and hospital-based provider groups.
  • Facilitate effective communication and engagement between the employed medical group and system leadership.
Qualifications:
  • Board-certified M.D. or D.O. with extensive clinical practice and leadership experience.
  • Preference given to advanced professional degree (Masters of Business Administration).
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience and 3 years of progressive medical staff leadership.
  • Proven track record of enhancing clinical outcomes, fostering physician satisfaction, driving quality improvement, clinical efficiency, and strong financial performance.
