Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Shuttle Bus Driver to join our team at Independence Village. As a Shuttle Bus Driver, you will play a vital role in providing safe and efficient transportation services to our senior residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation Services: Safely transport senior residents to and from various destinations, including medical appointments, social events, and community activities.
  • Assistance and Support: Assist residents with getting on and off the bus, utilizing the appropriate and safest mode for assistance, including the use of lifts, ambulation, and physical transfers.
  • Logistics and Scheduling: Complete bus trip logs and maintain a clean and organized schedule to ensure efficient and productive transportation services.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the bus, and complete daily inspection logs to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure seamless transportation services, and communicate effectively with residents, staff, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Experience: 3 years of experience driving a shuttle, bus, or similar vehicle.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Chauffeur's License, with a clean driving record.
  • Skills and Abilities: Compassionate and caring attitude, ability to work independently and as part of a team, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to lift 25 pounds.
  • Work Schedule: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evening, weekend, and holiday hours.
Working Conditions

This position requires standing for long periods of time, and involves frequent communication with others, sitting, standing, walking, and using hands to handle equipment and objects. The work environment is moderate, with occasional travel to different locations.
