We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Services Unit at Rust Medical Center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. As a Pre Op and PACU Nurse, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care to patients recovering from anesthesia after surgery.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor post-operation vital signs and assess levels of consciousness
- Observe patients for any side effects from anesthesia
- Work with patients prior to surgery to complete paperwork and answer questions or calm fears about surgery
- Utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift
- Registered Nurse - State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License required
- BLS required at time of hire
- Associate Degree in Nursing
- Previous Pre Op or PACU experience highly preferred or ICU/ED experience highly preferred
