Job Summary

The School Social Worker is a vital member of the Danbury Public Schools team, responsible for supporting the intellectual, social, and emotional development of students. This role requires a strong ability to relate to staff, families, and students from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and skill levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement social development reports for SRBI and PPT use, incorporating family background data, cultural information, and recommendations for future interventions.
  • Collaborate with community and state agency services, making referrals and serving as a liaison between agencies, family, and school when necessary.
  • Conduct home visits and family counseling sessions to support student success in the learning situation.

Requirements
  • Must possess or be eligible for Connecticut School Social Worker certification.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and maintain confidentiality.
  • Bilingual preferred.
