About the Role
This position will play a critical role in designing and building data products and services at scale to have a significant impact on 1.5 million Amazonians and the communities Amazon serves. As a Data Engineer II, you will sit with the GTMC SIERRA's engineering organization, working with Data Engineers, Software developer engineers, UX designers, business intelligence engineers, and data scientists.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  1. Designing, implementing, and supporting a platform providing secured access to large datasets.
  2. Architecting, developing, and maintaining end-to-end scalable data infrastructure and data pipelines.
  3. Interfacing with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL, scripting, and AWS big data technologies.
  4. Designing and implementing complex ETL pipelines and other BI solutions.

Requirements
We are looking for an experienced professional with the following skills and qualifications:
  • 1+ years of data engineering experience.
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
  • Experience with SQL and one or more query languages (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala).
  • Experience with one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, KornShell).
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR.
  • Experience with any ETL tool like Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI, Datastage, etc.
