Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled FPGA Engineer to contribute to our sensor, communication, and cyber systems in Cincinnati, OH. As a member of our multi-disciplinary program teams, you will implement next-generation, specialized communication systems and sensing systems critical to US intelligence customers and allies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct all phases of program development, including requirements generation, hardware selection, software development, and system integration and test.
  • Implement advanced waveform development, low size, weight, and power (low SWaP) processing systems, specialized space communication payloads, and persistent signal surveillance systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-discipline teams to design and implement VHDL and Verilog-based FPGA solutions.
  • Develop and simulate VHDL designs using ModelSim, QuestaSim, or comparable simulators.
  • Work with MATLAB/Octave, GNU Radio, and software-defined radios to implement digital communication systems.
  • Familiarize yourself with RADAR and EW signal processing algorithms, RF receiver development, and system link budget and sensitivity analysis.
Requirements
  • BS degree in Electrical, Computer, or related Engineering discipline with 5 years of experience; or MS Degree in Electrical, Computer, or related Engineering discipline with 3 years of experience.
  • VHDL or Verilog proficiency is required.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance to start (will sponsor).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience on cross-discipline teams.
  • Advanced knowledge in VHDL.
  • Experience implementing designs with various FPGA manufacturers (Xilinx, Microsemi, Lattice, Intel/Altera).
  • Proficient with MATLAB/Octave.
  • Experience with GNU Radio or software-defined radios.
  • Experience with wireless digital communication systems, modern digital modulation techniques, and modem design.
  • Familiarity with RADAR and EW signal processing algorithms.
  • Familiarity with RF receiver development, including system link budget and sensitivity analysis, ADC and receiver noise analysis, and baseband conversion and processing.
  • Experience in designing or implementing VHDL to withstand the space environment.
