Furthermore, the candidate should possess an expert-level understanding of video distribution architecture and the devices that comprise these systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and develop MPEG2 / MPEG4 video flow frameworks.
  • Implement modifications to various video encoding and transport devices to realize the desired architecture.
  • Revise and enhance video acquisition and edge designs.
  • Design, construct, launch, and validate new video flows from acquisition to edge devices.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve any issues encountered within the video network, both pre- and post-modification.
  • Generate and maintain documentation to support alterations in video network design.
  • Oversee ticketing and approvals associated with all undertaken work.
  • Coordinate with external teams to schedule and execute necessary changes to the video network.
  • Prepare and disseminate weekly project updates reflecting all completed work.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience configuring at least one of the specified devices.
  • Experience with DCM, DM6400, Prostream, and Drake devices.
  • Familiarity with Harmonic, Arris, and Cisco QAM devices.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of video transport methodologies and designs.
  • Understanding of MPEG2, MPEG4, ASI, H.264, and IP encoding and transport.
  • Experience in a large-scale production environment.
  • Proficiency with ticketing systems such as Remedy, Service Now, or Jira.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete projects within established timelines.
  • Ability to create and deploy configurations for Encoders and QAMs, whether manually or through automation, and migrate services from end-of-life devices to new systems, working collaboratively to achieve project objectives without impacting customers.
