Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at RTX. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems, products, and solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical systems, products, and solutions using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools.
  • Perform engineering calculations to determine the size and strength of components.
  • Solve design problems and check computations contributing to analytical designs.
  • Prepare, modify, and release drawings created in CAD to verify fit, form, and function of mechanical designs.
  • Utilize engineering tools such as FMEAs, FEA, and DFMA to validate design content.
  • Evaluate materials and parts for use in new designs, including communicating with current and new suppliers.
  • Operate in a team environment with other functional areas, providing input to design solutions and participating in design reviews.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • Experience in design using Siemens NX or other 3D CAD software.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Take ownership of task completion.
  • Experience working with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles.
  • Experience working with Teamcenter or other Product Data Manager (PDM) Tools.
  • Ability to lead others.
  • Troubleshooting skills and ability to locate and isolate problems.
  • Presentation skills – ability to prepare and present project/technical information.
