Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Crop Management Specialist to join our team at Willoway Nurseries. As a key member of our agricultural team, you will be responsible for managing the growth and development of our crops, ensuring they meet the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Crop Management: Oversee the daily management of crops, including irrigation, fertilization, and pest control.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and train a small team of growing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the success of our crops.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections to ensure crops meet quality standards, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of crop history, actions taken, and results achieved.
  • Problem Solving: Collaborate with the Plant Healthcare Team to identify and address pest pressure, and work with the Physical Plant to maintain the physical structures of the growing area.
Requirements
  • Experience: 3-5 years' experience in a horticultural or agricultural field.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of plant/horticultural knowledge, irrigation systems, and pumphouses.
  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to multi-function, strong organizational and time management skills, and detail-oriented.
Work Environment

This is an outdoor role, with 85-95% of time spent working in the field. You will be required to work in all safe weather conditions, caring for the plants.

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, 7am-4:30pm, with weekends on a rotational basis as needed. 40-50 hours per week in the Spring.
