Job Title: Electrical Engineer - Medium Voltage Specialist

The Electrical Engineer - Medium Voltage Specialist will play a crucial role in the completion of Medium / High Voltage Electrical projects in support of Plant Capital and expense projects. This role will assist management with pre-studies of deployment and development in the Electrical field, execute design studies, manage detailed design, follow procurement, and manage the installation, commissioning, and startup of equipment in an industrial plant environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical project specifications to project leaders and teams.
  • Support the development of full detailed design packages from internal or external engineering providers.
  • Estimate and schedule all phases of equipment additions, replacements, or upgrades.
  • Provide backup support and training to plant maintenance teams on new equipment or systems.
  • Collaborate with Process and Plant groups to accomplish objectives and provide contractor management and direction as needed.
  • Work with Purchasing to bid and procure necessary parts and services.
  • Participate in schedule negotiations and working relations with Utility providers as needed.
  • Contribute to major capital projects and/or modifications from start to finish, including equipment reception, commissioning, and acceptance.
  • Deliver completed documentation and as-built drawing packages to the site team of the project.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
  • Preferred 3-5 years of experience in Medium and High Voltage applications.
  • Experience with electrical design standards and NEC regulations.
  • Experience with NFPA 70E standards and requirements.
  • Experience with Project Management or Project Coordination preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.
Work Schedule:

Normal work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. However, occasional shifts in schedules can be made to provide coverage for project installations and start-ups requiring weekend or holiday coverage. Overtime work may be approved as needed, but it will not be typical. Work Plant Shutdowns as needed. This work almost always falls on weekends & Holidays. Work schedules will vary based on project need and assignment.
