Ej Equipment Corp is seeking a talented Service Department Team Lead to oversee the daily operations of our service department. As a Service Writer, you will be responsible for coordinating communication between customers and service technicians.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers promptly and collect necessary vehicle information.
- Facilitate open communication between customers and service technicians to ensure mutual understanding.
- Keep customers informed about essential service details and schedules.
- Verify warranties and service agreements accurately.
- Process repair orders with detailed descriptions and costs.
- Advise customers on additional services and their benefits.
- Supervise daily service department operations.
- Mentor and guide a team of service technicians and advisors.
- Assign and prioritize tasks for efficient workflow.
- Provide expert guidance and support on complex repairs.
- Evaluate technician performance and offer constructive feedback.
- Ensure timely and high-quality repair completion.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, repairs, and service history.
- Address customer concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with the parts department to secure necessary parts and supplies.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in automotive technology.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Automotive/Industrial Service Manager or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, repair, and maintenance.
- Proficient in sales techniques with exceptional customer service skills.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostic equipment is preferred.
- Effective team leadership, task prioritization, and workflow management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Prior experience as a service advisor or service writer.
- Above-average phone and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a busy environment.
- Team player focused on providing exemplary customer service.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic mechanical understanding of automobiles.
- Excellent sales history and customer service record.
- Ability to work well with existing staff members.
- Valid driver's license.
