We are seeking an experienced Machinist to join our Turbo Services team at Sulzer USA Inc. in La Porte, TX.
Job SummaryThis is a full-time position responsible for operating and maintaining various machines in the shop, including large mills, lathes, stripping machines, peening machines, and other equipment. The successful candidate will have experience working with turbo machinery and/or rotating equipment as a machinist.
Key Responsibilities- Operate Machines: Capable of operating all machines in the shop, including manual and automatic feeds to 0.0002" as required for final cuts.
- Maintain Equipment: Help maintain equipment by checking/add oil, cleaning machines after each shift, placing tooling in correct locations, and organizing workspace.
- Quality Control: Q.C. all manufactured parts prior to removing from machine and inform Department Supervisor of discrepancies.
- Planning and Organization: Work with Department Supervisor to develop a machine plan, determine tools required, and organize project parts.
- Safety and Compliance: Follow Company Safety Policy and Procedures, use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as identified in risk assessments, and report any safety issues to line manager.
- Experience: Must have experience working with turbo machinery and/or rotating equipment as a machinist.
- Skills: Ability to operate precision measuring instruments, perform intermediate trigonometry, read blueprints, and calculate dimensions.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year
