Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Derrick Hand with a Class B CDL license to join our team at Steel Energy Services. As a key member of our well services crew, you will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining our workover rigs, ensuring the efficient completion of oil and gas well services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain workover rigs, including derrick equipment and triplex pumps
  • Assist in the rigging up and rigging down of the workover rig
  • Perform maintenance services and repairs on oil and gas wells
  • Participate in daily pre-job safety meetings and write Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
  • Inspect and document all lift equipment on location
  • Assist in training and mentoring SSE employees and floor hands
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Rig Operator
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of floor hand experience
  • Basic problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal skills, and verbal/written English communication skills
  • Minimum 1 year of basic oilfield service experience
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Class B CDL license to drive workover rig (not required but encouraged)
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and lift objects of up to 75 pounds for extended periods
  • Ability to pass company's pre-employment exam, including a drug screen and physical
  • Acceptable criminal history
