MEP Department Head

Remington & Vernick Engineers is seeking a seasoned MEP Department Head to lead our engineering team in the Delaware Valley territory. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing the MEP department, ensuring the successful design, implementation, and maintenance of MEP systems across various projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Department Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the MEP department, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Project Management: Oversee all MEP projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Technical Oversight: Serve as the primary technical authority for MEP systems, offering guidance and expertise to ensure optimal design and functionality.
  • Budget and Resource Allocation: Manage departmental resources effectively, including staffing, budgeting, and scheduling, to meet project demands and organizational goals.
  • Quality Control: Implement and enforce stringent quality control processes to ensure all MEP work meets or exceeds industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, addressing concerns, and ensuring satisfaction with MEP solutions.
  • Training and Development: Mentor and develop MEP team members, promoting professional growth and ensuring the team remains current with industry advancements.
  • Innovation and Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices, driving continuous improvement and innovation within the MEP department.
Requirements:
  • Leadership and Team Management: Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in matrix management and remote staff management.
  • Experience in Pursuing Leads: Proven experience in pursuing leads and obtaining new work.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of regional building codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Project Management: Excellent project management skills, with a track record of successfully managing complex engineering programs.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to analyze financial reports and set business objectives.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in MEP design software and project management tools, with knowledge of Deltek Vision software preferred.
Education and Experience:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field).
  • Experience: At least 10 years of experience in MEP design, engineering, and project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Certifications and Licenses:
  • PE License: PE License Required.
  • Driver's License: Valid Driver's License.
