Fluorescent Penetrate Inspector (FPI)
Howmet Aerospace is actively seeking skilled Fluorescent Penetrate Inspectors (FPI) for positions on 2nd and 3rd shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct a variety of inspection tasks including receiving, final, and in-process evaluations on diverse components.
- Prepare materials through pre-cleaning procedures prior to FPI.
- Execute process verifications on materials moving through the FPI workflow.
- Perform routine daily and weekly calibration assessments.
- Adhere to operational guidelines and maintain comprehensive quality documentation.
- Address and resolve issues as they occur.
- May involve training responsibilities and oversight of heat treatment furnaces.
Essential Functions:
- Evaluate materials in accordance with operational sheet specifications.
- Keep accurate quality records.
- Utilize measuring instruments for data verification and interpretation.
- Engage in various tasks such as packing, loading, and cleaning components.
- Support the training of new inspectors and staff members.
- Carry out inspections requiring high visual concentration for prolonged durations.
- Identify and resolve issues while conducting final evaluations.
- Participate in quality audits and maintain satisfactory attendance.
Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma or GED is required.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year in manufacturing inspection; FPI experience is preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Fundamental understanding of mathematical principles and the use of measuring devices.
- Capability to interpret specifications and analyze data effectively.
