Position Overview:

As the Manager of Sterile Processing Operations, you will oversee all activities related to the cleaning, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments. This role is crucial in ensuring that all surgical sets and patient care equipment are maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage inventory levels of instruments and equipment, ensuring proper utilization and availability.
- Review and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for Sterile Processing equipment to align with organizational needs.
- Provide training and education for all Sterile Processing staff, enhancing their skills and knowledge.
- Coordinate the transportation of instruments and equipment across various facilities, ensuring effective communication among all stakeholders.
- Supervise and mentor staff, while planning and implementing educational programs for certification and skill development.
- Collaborate with oversight entities to develop new training initiatives based on assessments and regulatory requirements.
- Establish measurement tools to monitor departmental quality and productivity, reporting findings regularly.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant standards and regulations, participating in accreditation surveys as needed.

Qualifications:

- An Associate’s degree in sterile processing or a related clinical field is required; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- A minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience in sterile processing is required, with at least three (3) years in a supervisory role.
- Current certifications from recognized organizations in sterile processing are mandatory.
- A Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) designation or equivalent must be obtained within the first year of employment.
