We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Renewable Energy Interconnection Specialist to join our team at Pacifico Power.

The Renewable Energy Interconnection Specialist will play a crucial role in filing and submitting interconnection applications for renewable projects (solar, renewable, fuel cells).

Additionally, the individual will be responsible for overseeing and managing engineering aspects related to interconnection, ensuring seamless integration with the electrical grid.


Key Responsibilities:

Interconnection Application Management :
Lead the preparation, submission, and tracking of interconnection applications for renewable projects: solar, BESS, fuel cell
Work closely with regulatory authorities, utilities, and other stakeholders to facilitate the approval process.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of interconnection regulations, policies, and guidelines.
Analyze electrical grids across the U.S to identify new opportunities for interconnecting renewable energy and storage projects;
Understand interconnection requirements, interconnection processes and Tariff rules;
Lead technical discussions and negotiations with utilities/ISOs to make project interconnection timely and cost effective
Coordinate construction of all line-side upgrades required by the utility, working closely with the utility to reduce stated timelines.

Engineering Oversight :


Collaborate with internal and external engineering teams to ensure the technical aspects of interconnection projects align with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Review engineering designs, specifications, and documentation to identify and address potential challenges.

Project Coordination:
Act as the primary point of contact for interconnection projects, coordinating efforts between internal teams and external partners.
Ensure timely project delivery by managing schedules, resources, and communication channels effectively.

Risk Management:
Identify and assess potential risks associated with interconnection projects, proposing mitigation strategies where necessary.
Stay informed about emerging industry trends and advancements to enhance the efficiency of interconnection processes.

Stakeholder Communication:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with utility companies, regulatory agencies, and other relevant stakeholders.
Communicate project updates and milestones to internal teams and external partners.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
Proven experience in managing interconnection processes for solar or renewable energy projects.
Strong understanding of electrical systems, grid integration, and relevant regulations and codes.
Excellent project management and organizational skills.
Familiarity with engineering software and tools.

Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure adherence to design and interconnection timelines.

Solid working knowledge of solar photovoltaic systems and energy storage systems, including the ability to identify, analyze and specify different systems and equipment, identify potential energy savings measures, and quantify the potential energy savings and costs.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders
Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
