Position Summary

The Access Control Officer plays a crucial role in overseeing the access screening processes for personnel and visitors at facilities managed by Chenega MIOS SBU. This position does not involve law enforcement duties and does not grant any powers of arrest or detention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and safety protocols while executing assigned tasks in a secure manner.
  • Report to work in the designated uniform, equipped with necessary tools and gear.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and condition of the uniform and issued equipment.
  • Execute general and specific directives for the designated area.
  • Utilize communication devices such as radios and telephones to relay information as instructed.
  • Manage access to facilities, safeguard assets, and conduct security inspections of both interior and exterior areas as required.
  • Engage with the public and government representatives as necessary, providing escort services when needed.
  • Professionally interact with employees, distinguished guests, and the general public.
  • Exhibit composure and self-discipline in high-pressure situations.
  • Assist medical, fire, law enforcement, and other emergency personnel as directed by supervisors.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and accurate reports in English.
  • Interpret and apply printed regulations, detailed instructions, and training materials in English.
  • Be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Prior experience in access control is preferred.
  • In accordance with federal regulations, all candidates must verify their identity and eligibility to work in the United States upon hiring.
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Candidates must be at least 21 years old.
  • Experience in military, civilian, or security roles is preferred.
  • Completion of all necessary training and acquisition of required permits, licenses, certifications, and security clearances for the position is mandatory.
  • A valid state driver's license must be maintained.
  • No history of illegal drug use, sale, possession, or manufacture in the past five years is permitted.
