Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary duties involve maintaining cleanliness and organization at construction sites, transporting and delivering materials; utilizing various tools and machinery, including forklifts; operating lifts; and handling power tools, grinders, saws, pressure washers, and water spraying equipment. Laborers are responsible for erecting and dismantling ladders, scaffolding, and other temporary structures. They provide assistance to carpenters, HVAC technicians, and other specialized tradespeople.

MAJOR DUTIES:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Transporting, securing, installing, constructing, loading, or unloading materials
  • Supporting the construction or assembly of various structures
  • Some specialized tasks may necessitate on-the-job training
  • Utilizing heavy and light machinery effectively, based on the job requirements
  • Relocating items as directed by the site supervisor
  • Handling materials according to plans or supervisor instructions

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in carpentry
  • At least 1 year of experience in construction
  • Capability to lift over 50 lbs consistently in a construction setting
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with diverse groups
  • Ability to demonstrate independent and mature judgment
  • Maintain a professional demeanor, even in challenging situations
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Willingness to travel as needed for supplies or to main office
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • The physical demands of this role are typical of a standard facilities or maintenance environment. Must be capable of lifting, bending, carrying, moving equipment and furniture, and using cleaning tools and standard equipment. Work is conducted both indoors and outdoors, necessitating the ability to adapt to varying weather conditions. While performing job duties, the employee is required to hear, speak, stand, walk, reach, stoop, or kneel. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
