Job Title: Automation Controls Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to assist with completing metals manufacturing and heavy industrial projects. This individual's primary role will be to help develop PLC and HMI programs and provide support and expertise during commissioning and in starting up material handling systems and industrial controls for steel processing lines.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with customers to understand their needs and requirements.
  • Check equipment connections and supervise electrical installation to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Power up electrical controls and start-up material handling systems.
  • Commission L1 controls on site and tune and test motion and complex control loops.
  • Configure and test safety systems to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Electrical Design background or interest.
  • Project management skills.
  • Control Systems Engineering and software development experience.
  • AC and DC Drive systems commissioning experience.
  • Process line experience a plus.
  • Fanuc Robotic experience a plus.
  • HMI development experience: Siemens, Rockwell, C-More Platforms.
  • PLC software engineering experience: Siemens and Rockwell Platforms.
  • Configure and setup of Rockwell Powerflex 755 and other drive systems.
  • Software computer skills design: MS Office, PowerPoint, Excel.
