Job Summary

The Specimen Collector - Phlebotomy is a key role at Aegis Sciences Corporation, responsible for collecting biological specimens at client sites for scientific testing. This position requires maintaining the integrity of the collection process, recording data, and ensuring specimens are properly packaged for shipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Communication: Foster open communication between clients and Aegis Sales Management.
  • Sample Collection: Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for sample collection, ensuring the integrity of each 'Chain of Custody' and sample.
  • Sample Requisitions: Ensure sample requisitions are complete and accurate, utilizing Electronic Lab Requisitions (ELR) for submissions.
  • Compliance and Safety: Complete required Compliance Training, including HIPAA, and comply with all applicable safety requirements, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Supply Management: Order supplies and manage budget with Regional Sales Manager and Area Sales Manager as required.
  • Insurance Verification: Verify insurance information through Passport as needed.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and resolving issues in a professional manner.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Completion of a phlebotomy training program or a minimum of three (3) years of experience in blood collection required.
  • Certification: Must meet state requirements for phlebotomy certification (where required).
  • Skills: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintain quality and confidentiality, and possess excellent communication and customer service skills.
Work Schedule

PRN, up to 16 hours per week.
