Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Specialist to join our team at IKO North America. As an HSE Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, contractors, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement HSE Programs: Design, implement, and maintain effective HSE programs that meet or exceed regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments and Hazard Identification: Identify potential hazards and risks in the workplace and develop strategies to mitigate or eliminate them.
  • Provide Training and Coaching: Deliver training and coaching to employees on HSE policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Investigate Incidents and Near Misses: Conduct thorough investigations of incidents and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain Compliance with Regulatory Requirements: Ensure that the company is in compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, and other industry-specific regulations.
  • Develop and Maintain HSE Metrics and Reporting: Establish and maintain metrics to measure HSE performance and provide regular reporting to management.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with operations, maintenance, and other departments to ensure that HSE considerations are integrated into all aspects of the business.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, with a focus on HSE.
  • Professional Certifications: Possess a professional certification in HSE, such as CSP or CIH.
  • Skills and Competencies: Proven leadership skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
