This Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant role is an exciting opportunity to join our team at SUMMIT MEDICAL GROUP PLLC in the Knoxville area.
We are seeking a skilled professional to work in a dynamic clinic setting, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the growth and success of our organization.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of previous patient care experience in a clinic setting, with a preference for two years of Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant experience.
Candidates must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of Tennessee or hold a current Physician Assistant license to practice in the State of Tennessee.
The successful applicant will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and provide exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
- Perform complete physical exams, obtain medical histories, and record findings.
- Maintain and review patient records, charts, and other pertinent information.
- Order laboratory and diagnostic procedures as necessary, performing them as appropriate.
- Determine preliminary diagnoses and therapeutic plans by interpreting and integrating data.
- Post test results and examination findings as needed.
- Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatments, educating them on health and illness prevention, and recommending community resources.
- Assist physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients.
- Provide continuity of care between physician visits and triage nursing and family telephone calls.
Education and Experience
A successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program is required.
Previous experience in a clinic setting is essential, with a preference for Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant experience.
