Production Manager

As a Production Superintendent at Channel Personnel Services, you will be responsible for leading the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all site operations units. This includes the effective allocation of resources and staffing, as well as the achievement of production schedule targets and productivity goals. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving operational issues, as well as coordinating efficient outage planning and maximizing plant uptime. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining physical inventory of raw materials and finished goods, monitoring process order costs, and executing plant approvals for new recipes in SAP.
Responsibilities
• Provide safety leadership on the shop floor by demonstrating a personal safety mindset and ensuring that safe work practices and behaviors are used by all associates and contractors.
• Ensure that OSHA PSM standards are practiced, including employee participation, management of change, and PM items.
• Actively participate in plant safety committee and key hazard teams, leading incident investigations and facilitating corrective actions.
• Ensure that hazardous and nonhazardous wastes are properly handled and not allowed to accumulate.
• Drive good housekeeping standards and 5S.
• Responsible for production management, including the allocation of resources and staffing, production schedule attainment, and achievement of productivity targets.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, coordinate efficient outage planning, and maximize plant uptime.
• Maintain physical inventory of raw materials and finished goods, monitor process order costs, and execute plant approvals for new recipes in SAP.
• Investigate quality and customer incidents, prevent recurrence, and take an active role in reviewing new recipes prior to manufacture.
• Support ISO certification with internal and external personnel, and work in coordination with QA department to drive sustainable quality improvements.
• Be visible and available to manage personnel and process issues, empower and engage area teams to affect and implement changes and improvements, and lead hiring process for recruiting technicians as needed.
• Continuously assess associate performance, provide developmental opportunities, and ensure that all manufacturing operators receive proper and adequate certification training.
• Recognize reliable performance, give corrective feedback as needed, and drive a professional and respectful workplace culture at the site.
• Solid awareness of HR and company policies, and ensure adherence at the site.
• Complete other tasks as assigned by Leadership, and fill in for the Site Leader in their absence.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or the functional equivalent in experience.
• Minimum five (5) years of proven experience managing and leading others in chemical processing or a closely related field.
• Organizational, supervisory, and motivational skills, analytical and team building abilities, and initiative-taking self-starter.
• Transformational leadership, change management, communication, and people skills, and ability to coordinate emergency situations.
• Good mechanical aptitude, understanding of process equipment, excellent troubleshooting skills, and formal training in management and supervision of people.
• Experience with Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing principles.
