We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer Project Manager to enhance our dynamic team in our Dulles and Baltimore offices. This role is hybrid, requiring onsite presence up to three days a week.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Civil Engineer Project Manager will oversee the planning, permitting, and design of land development, utility systems, roadways, and other infrastructure components for various clients, including government and commercial entities. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the project team on all facets of land development and site design projects, including project initiation, drafting, design, quality assurance, and overall project management.
  • Preparing and revising construction documents, reports, specifications, and other essential design deliverables.
  • Conducting analysis of maps, reports, drawings, as-builts, and test results relevant to design projects.
  • Providing post-design construction support services, addressing RFIs, reviewing submittals, preparing as-builts, and conducting field observations.
  • Establishing budgets and labor forecasts for design tasks.
  • Working closely with office staff and management to ensure project completion within budget and timeline constraints.
  • Generating engineering calculations necessary for project design and coordinating the development of construction drawings.
  • Organizing and delivering project plans and specifications.
  • Executing quality assurance and quality reviews of design plans, specifications, and estimates.
  • Consulting with engineers, architects, landscape architects, environmental scientists, project consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Designing and permitting civil construction projects, including stormwater management and erosion and sediment control.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and engineering technicians.
  • Engaging in business development activities.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Senior Civil Engineer/Project Manager position will possess:

  • A minimum of six years of progressively responsible experience in the civil engineering field.
  • A Professional Engineer license in Virginia, Maryland, or Washington, DC, or the ability to obtain one within six months.
  • Proficiency in engineering design software such as MicroStation/InRoads and AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
  • A solid understanding of civil engineering principles and techniques related to construction materials, methods, and procedures.
  • Self-motivation and adaptability, with the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with others.
