Nuclear Medicine Imaging Specialist

Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for coordinating and performing diagnostic medical imaging procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals and medical imaging equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of radiation safety protocols and be able to administer radiopharmaceuticals as prescribed by physicians.
As a key member of the healthcare team, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality diagnostic images and contribute to the development of treatment plans for patients.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals as prescribed by physicians, adhering to established procedures.
- Perform periodic quality control tests, documenting according to hospital policies and procedures.
- Document daily calibrations and flood films for all Nuclear Medicine imaging equipment, dose calibrator accuracy check, hot lab area survey, dispensed pharmaceuticals, and radioactive source disposal.
- Practice safe handling of radio nuclides and radiation safety procedures at all times.
- Meet expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Demonstrate adherence to the CORE Values of CHRISTUS Health.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required. 1 year of experience in a clinical nuclear medicine setting required. 2 years of experience in a clinical Radiology setting is preferred. Current State Licensure required. Current BLS (American Heart Association) required. Nuclear Medicine Technologist registration from ARRT or NMTCB required.
