About the Role

Columbus State University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director to lead the Leadership Institute, a university-based consulting group that provides expertise and training in leadership development, team building, assessments, coaching, and strategic planning. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing vision and leadership for both the external and internal facing arms of the Institute, ensuring alignment with the university's mission, vision, values, and priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the Leadership Institute, including program development, goal setting, and progress tracking.
  • Communicate, promote, and enhance the Leadership Institute brand through speaking engagements, events, and campus presence.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, maintain contact with current and former clients, and track and evaluate operation and financial details.
  • Creation, coordination, and management of certification programs, pursuit of certifications and professional development opportunities, and monitoring of Georgia Marketplace for state RFPs/RFQs.
  • Supervise and support internal L.I.V.E CSU programs, provide executive coaching to both internal and external clients, and lead leadership development sessions on current topics and emerging trends.
  • Work with the Assistant Director of Client Engagement and Business Development on client proposals, budgeting, pricing, marketing, social media content, recruiting of consultants, annual reports, and other special projects.
  • Supervise and evaluate all Leadership Institute staff, continuously evaluate the products and services offered by the Leadership Institute, and collect and evaluate data gathered from clients to improve the effectiveness of LI offerings.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Organizational Development, Communication, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in developing, coordinating, and delivering professional development programming.
  • A successful track record of at least five years' experience in responsible leadership positions.
  • Certified Executive Coach.
  • Holds certification(s) in personality assessments such as DISC, Emergenetics, MBTI, StrengthsFinder, or the like.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in higher education and/or running a for-profit business.
