Job Title: Clinical Research Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Research Nurse to join our team at Loyola University Chicago. As a Clinical Research Nurse, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care while contributing to the advancement of medical research.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that care delivered to patients meets or exceeds standards of care and is provided according to the institution's mission, strategic plans, and internal/external regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Practice within the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation Nurse Practice Act and support the established care models of LUMC.
  • Coordinate research projects in compliance with IRB regulations, Code of Federal Regulations, and in collaboration with medical services.
  • Provide education for patients and healthcare providers regarding various research protocols.
  • Implement research protocols utilizing appropriate screening and informed consent.
  • Collect data and perform clinical assessments of research parameters.
  • Evaluate and maintain the integrity of research protocols in collaboration with the principal investigator.
  • Monitor patients for adverse events and report any abnormalities immediately to the investigator and appropriate study personnel.
  • Facilitate patient enrollment and continued participation in studies.
  • Submit research protocols to the IRB for review.
  • Collect clinical material and submit for central review.
  • Participate in Cooperative Group Audits.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent training acquired via work experience or education.
  • Minimum Experience: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and consistency.
  • Ability to communicate verbally.
  • Ability to finish tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to compose letters and memorandums.
  • Ability to deal calmly and courteously with people.
  • Ability to deal with stressful situations.

  • Ability to compile complex reports and develop presentations.
  • Ability to negotiate, persuade, and establish direction.
  • Ability to maintain office files and follow standard office procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Specialty certification in clinical or functional area of nursing granted by a national nursing organization.
  • CCRA (Certified Clinical Research Associate) or equivalent (SoCRA or ACRP).
Working Conditions:

This position is currently remote/hybrid, primarily focused on data, subject to change.
