Job Overview

Position: Construction Superintendent

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee construction projects ranging from 6 to 30 months in duration.
  • Manage and direct all phases of construction from initial planning to final completion.
  • Analyze specifications and construction drawings to determine necessary equipment, materials, and staffing for each construction phase.
  • Collaborate with Project Management and subcontractors to strategize and implement work procedures, ensuring adherence to specifications and timelines.
  • Lead and guide field personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers effectively.
  • Coordinate with management to ensure timely delivery of tools, materials, and equipment in alignment with project schedules, while also managing inventory.
  • Monitor daily work progress and prepare status reports, adjusting work activities as necessary.
  • Maintain positive relationships with project owners, engineers, inspectors, and other stakeholders.
  • Engage with supervisory staff, engineers, inspectors, suppliers, and subcontractors to troubleshoot issues and enhance construction methods.
  • Innovate construction techniques aimed at cost reduction and quality improvement.
  • Assist in the development and management of project timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with job site safety regulations and company policies.
  • Onboard field personnel effectively.
  • Provide expertise in various trade areas, including earthwork, concrete, yard piping, process piping, and mechanical/equipment installations.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Open to training candidates with relevant experience.
  • Field experience in heavy concrete, underground piping, process piping, or mechanical/equipment installations is preferred.
  • Demonstrated stable employment history.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel, primarily within the upper Midwest.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Superintendent role, ideally in Heavy Civil, Industrial, or Water/Wastewater sectors.
  • 3 years of construction experience is required.
  • Valid Driver's License is mandatory.
