Respite Provider Job Description

Lighthouse Youth & Family Services is seeking a dedicated Respite Provider to join our team. As a Respite Provider, you will play a vital role in providing temporary relief and support to individuals and families who are caring for individuals with challenging circumstances.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide short-term, temporary relief to caregivers of clients between the ages of birth and 21 with mental health diagnoses.
  • Respite services may include general supervision, meal preparation, and hands-on assistance with personal care.
  • Plan and implement social, recreational, and educational activities, and act as a positive role model.
  • Participate in inter-disciplinary treatment teams to implement strategies to assist and encourage progress towards meeting goals.
  • Provide age-appropriate life skills building and build professional relationships with parents/guardians.
  • Complete progress notes and client documentation within specified timeframes.
Requirements:
  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Exhibit trauma-informed, interpersonal skills, patience, tolerance, flexibility, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of mental illness, psychiatric symptoms, and their impact on functioning and behavior.
  • Concepts of recovery and resiliency.
  • CPR/First Aid certification.
