Your Role and Responsibilities:
As a Behavior Support Specialist, you will:
- Enhance student capabilities while developing your own skills by collaborating with educators to provide tailored support to small groups.
- Experience the fulfillment of monitoring student behavior, tracking educational achievements, and engaging with families to reinforce learning through our established methodologies.
- Work with a diverse student population, embracing various developmental, cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Facilitate small group instruction by implementing the SESI academic rotational model.
- Collaborate with teachers to deliver personalized behavioral and academic assistance, conducting both formal and informal assessments.
- Support students in mastering materials introduced by teachers by assigning relevant tasks, utilizing data to select appropriate resources, and conducting one-on-one tutorials.
- Assist educators with large group activities, grading assignments, guiding independent study, and providing necessary accommodations and modifications.
- Employ behavior support and intervention techniques, including de-escalation strategies, crisis management, and physical restraint when required to ensure the safety of all individuals.
- Contribute to the development and execution of daily plans.
- Document and monitor student progress towards academic, social, and emotional objectives.
- Supervise students consistently, ensuring their safety during transitions between school locations.
- Collaborate with fellow educators, assistant teachers, and related service providers to address the needs of students.
